The company was established in 1884 AD
With the issuance of nationalization decisions in 1961, the Egyptian Dredging  Company and the Middle East Dredging Company were nationalized, and each of  them began to carry out its activities under the name of the Egyptian Dredging and
General Contracting Company.
The two companies were merged under the name of the Egyptian Dredging  Company in 1969.
The company was evaluated at the first level in accordance with Ministerial  Resolution No. 13398 of 1975.
The company’s bylaws were issued by Ministerial Resolution No. 161 of 1981, and the
bylaws were issued in light of Law No. 203 of 1991 issued in No. 169 dated 22/7/2007.
With the issuance of Public Business Sector Law No. 203 of 1991, the company  became part of the business sector of the Holding Company for Public Works.
Then it became an Egyptian joint stock company subject to Law 159 of 1981.
The issued and fully paid-up capital of the company is (48,000,000) forty-eight million  pounds.
The company was affiliated with the Holding Company for Trade, affiliated with the
Ministry of Investment, after its return to the Business Sector Law No. 203 of 1991, and  on 20/1/2008, it became affiliated with the National Company for Construction and  Development.
The company become one of the business sector companies affiliated with the holding Company for Irrigation and Drainage – Affiliated to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation.
